CAMARILLO : 11 Stores in Outlet Mall to Open Today

Eleven outlet stores in the long-awaited Camarillo Factory Stores mall will open for business today, a spokeswoman for the mall’s developer said Wednesday.
Bass, Designer Fragrance and Cosmetics, Factory Brand Shoes, Jones New York Factory Finale, Leather Loft, Levi’s, and Maternity Works will open their doors for the first time to the public, said Susie Plummer, a spokeswoman for Newport Beach-based developer Chelsea GCA Realty Inc.
Other stores scheduled to open today include OshKosh B’Gosh, Sunglass Hut, Van Heusen and Le Gourmet Chef. Nine West and Book Warehouse are due to open in the next few days, Plummer said.
“We finished the building ahead of time, so there really wasn’t a reason not to let them open,” Plummer said. “The remaining tenants will be opening at a staggered pace over the next few days and weeks.”
Plummer said the 165,000-square-foot first phase of the mall will house 44 retailers. She said construction on a second phase is expected to begin later this year.
A private ribbon-cutting ceremony has been scheduled for Tuesday, Plummer said. A public grand opening event for the mall is being planned for the spring.
