Smoking Ban Set for Flights to Australia

CANBERRA, Australia — The United States, Canada and Australia will ban smoking on nonstop flights between the three countries beginning July 1, 1996, Australian Transport Minister Laurie Brereton said Wednesday.
Smoking has been banned on Australian domestic flights since 1987.
