Hiring Preferences

* In support for the “California Civil Rights Initiative,” Gov. Pete Wilson backs the abolition of racial and gender preferences in employment and in other state-provided services. I assume that he also is in favor of the abolition of veterans’ preferences in employment, which the State of California currently grants to former veterans. If one is consistent, all preferences should be abolished, right?
