Senator Joins Attack on Time Warner: Joseph I. Liebermann (D-Conn.) will add his voice to the campaign against the entertainment giant and its marketing of rap music. Liebermann, who chairs the Democratic Leadership Council, will join gangsta rap critics William J. Bennett, the nation’s former drug czar, and C. DeLores Tucker, chair of the National Political Congress of Black Women, at a Washington news conference today, where they are expected to unveil a radio advertisement chastising Time Warner for selling violent and sexually degrading music. Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole (R-Kan.) joined Bennett and Tucker’s anti-Time Warner crusade last month, echoing their criticisms on the Senate floor as well as on national television.
