‘Picnic’ Leftovers

Although I enjoyed Susan King’s recommendations for summer video rentals (TV Times, July 16), I have to disagree with your comment about the play version of William Inge’s “Picnic.”
Did you happen to see the Roundabout’s revival of it on Broadway last spring? It was vibrant, moving, still very pertinent and played to sold-out audiences for four months.
Besides being nominated for three Tonys, I thought the production was brilliant. I ought to know. I was in it.
