Dunn was formerly a partner with Bryan Cave in a Los Angeles practice from 1984 to 1994.
He was a federal public defender from 1976 to 1984.
Dunn will receive an annual salary of $107,390.
Frank Johnson of Agoura Hills will replace Municipal Judge Lloyd Wiatt, who was elevated to Superior Court.
The 43-year-old Johnson has been a deputy district attorney in Los Angeles since 1984.
He was in private practice from 1979 to 1984. He will receive a salary of $98,070 a year.
Wilson yesterday named 12 people in all to various superior and municipal court judgeships throughout the state, his office said.
