HOUSTON — Attorneys selected a 12-member jury Tuesday in the trial of a woman accused of murdering Tejano singer Selena, and opening arguments are scheduled for today.
Yolanda Saldivar, 35, was expected to say in her defense that she inadvertently shot Selena during a March 31 dispute in a Corpus Christi, Tex., motel. Her attorneys repeatedly asked prospective jurors if they thought a gun could fire accidentally.
The jury includes four Latinos, seven whites and one black.
