Leonard Green, the starting tailback until he suffered a foot injury two weeks ago at Arizona, could miss most of his senior season, Coach John Robinson said.
“I would say at least two more weeks. . . . We’re hopeful for the Stanford game,” he said. USC plays Stanford Nov. 4.
Robinson said Rodney Sermons, almost the forgotten man in the Trojan backfield, is learning to play fullback.
“We see Rodney as the fullback next year,” he said. “Rodney is frustrated now, but it’s hard to get Terry Barnum out of the game right now.”

Suspended tailback Shawn Walters said he has been advised by his attorney not to comment on the events leading to his Sept. 28 suspension for allegedly receiving money from an agent.
Asked if he expects to play again for USC, Walters said: “I’m hoping, and I’m waiting. . . . When this mess is all over, I’ll be happy to tell my side of the story, but right now I’m being advised not to talk to anyone.”
Tuesday, however, Walters told the Orange County Register that he is hoping to get a bank loan to repay the approximately $16,000 in question.
