Arleta : Resident Fatally Shoots Intruder

A man was fatally shot Wednesday by the 43-year-old resident of the Arleta house he intended to rob, Los Angeles police said.
The burglar broke into the house in the 9800 block of Arleta Avenue about 9 a.m., Lt. Kathy Age said.
When the intruder startled the resident, whose name was not released, the burglar grabbed a sharp object and advanced on him, Age said. The resident then shot the intruder, who died at the scene.
