San Fernando Valley : FREE LUNCH

Students in the free lunch program of the Las Virgenes Unified School District no longer have to worry about singing for their supper. The school board has scuttled a written policy saying students should “earn their meals” when possible. Officials said they worried that the never-enforced policy would be construed as “discriminatory.”
