For the second time in three years, Pasadena has won an Emmy for the best produced cable program by a municipality with its video on stemming the tide of street violence.
“Conversation Peace,” a six-minute montage co-produced by the city prosecutor’s office and the Coalition for a Nonviolent City, won the award at the 48th Annual Los Angeles Area Academy of Television, Arts & Sciences Emmy Awards on Saturday.
“It’s awesome. We’re elated,” said Linda Centell of the city’s public affairs office, who wrote the script with city’s cable station director, Robert Richards.
City prosecutor Tracy Webb initiated the project as part of an ongoing effort to inspire viewers to become active in stopping violence among the city’s youths.
