U.S. Funds to Train Workers in Multimedia

YORBA LINDA — The U.S. Department of Labor has awarded a $750,000 grant to train dislocated workers in Orange and Los Angeles counties for multimedia jobs in such areas as entertainment, education and advertising. The program, which will be implemented by the North Orange County Community College District and other colleges in the Southland, includes course work, internships and job placement.
The one-year program is expected to help 60 workers. The first course will begin in early January. Applications will be accepted starting November. Information: (714) 779-8279.
