Three Softball Players Commit to Arizona

Four area softball players have decided where they will attend college.
Pacifica’s Toni Mascarenas, Foothill’s Lauren Bauer and Fountain Valley’s Lindsey Collins have given oral commitments to Arizona. Westminster’s Kelly Hauxhurst agreed to attend Washington.
Bauer and Mascarenas earned Times all-county recognition in 1996. Bauer, a two-time all-county selection as an outfielder, batted .382 with three home runs and 22 RBIs last season. Mascarenas, a three-time pick as a pitcher and infielder, batted .411 with six home runs and 21 RBIs last season.
Hauxhurst, a two-time all-county choice as an outfielder and designated hitter, hit four home runs and drove in 27 runs while batting .500 last season.
Collins, a catcher and outfielder, batted .362 and stole 15 of 17 bases.
