BioLase Anticipates Decrease in Revenue

SAN CLEMENTE — BioLase Technology Inc. said its first-quarter revenue will be “substantially less” than the third and fourth quarters of 1997, but will be greater than the same year-earlier period.
The company had revenues of about $614,000 in the 1997 fourth quarter; $134,305 in the 1997 first quarter.
BioLase attributed the downturn to the German distributor of its Millennium system, which requested a partial redesign of a component.
BioLase said it has delayed shipment of additional Millennium systems to its German distributor while it redesigns the hand piece.
