Teacher Arrested on Child Porn Charges

A schoolteacher has been arrested by Los Angeles police on suspicion of possession and duplication of child pornography, school officials said late Wednesday.
“Due to the nature of these charges, the employee will be placed on leave of absence pending the outcome of criminal proceedings,” Supt. Leslie Adelson said in a written statement that did not identify the teacher.
Adelson said detectives told officials of the South Pasadena Unified School District that the employee “would be charged with two penal code section violations that deal with possession of child pornography and duplication of such materials.”
School board member Susan LaCombe said the employee arrested was a teacher.
Law enforcement officials knowledgeable about the allegations said a South Pasadena High School teacher had been detained by Los Angeles police detectives during a sting operation.
