Free Breast-Cancer Screenings Offered

The city and the YWCA have scheduled a day of free breast-cancer screenings at Backs Community Center in Placentia.
Appointments are required for the screenings, scheduled for Sept. 11, and they will include a mammogram, a clinical breast exam and self-exam instructions.
The service is sponsored by YWCA EncorePlus, a program for early breast-cancer detection, as well as the Orange County Breast Cancer Partnership Early Detection Program and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
