Family Math Night Scheduled at School

Whoever thought that adding numbers could bring a family closer?
Teachers and students at Conejo School thought so and have organized their second annual Family Math Night at 7 p.m. Thursday at the elementary school, 280 Conejo School Road, in Thousand Oaks.
Students and parents will spend the evening exploring various mathematical avenues through a host of activities, including card games, logic puzzles and charts.
Organizers hope that by bringing parents into the occasionally frustrating world of math, they will help foster and maintain a spirit of discovery in their children.
Organizers also say that with the involvement of parents, children will be able to reinforce their basic math skills and prepare for a future of algebra, calculus, tip calculation and checkbook balancing.
