Chatsworth Has 1-Stroke Lead

Chatsworth High, defending City Section champion, holds a one-stroke lead over Granada Hills after the first round of the City Section golf finals Monday at Harding Golf Course in Griffith Park.
Chatsworth, behind a five-over-par 77 by Scott Brokaw and a 78 by Marcos Evans, shot 392. Darrin Schneider shot 72 to lead Granada Hills to a 393.
Burley Stamps of Palisades, the defending individual champion, shot a six-under-par 65, the lowest score in the City Section this season. Schneider is the closest to Stamps at 72. Scott Bashin of Birmingham shot 73 and Keith Romar, also of Birmingham, shot 75.
The second and final round will be played today at Wilson Golf Course in Griffith Park.
