Plaid Brothers Acquired

SunGard Data Systems Inc. said Wednesday it has agreed to acquire Plaid Brothers Software Inc., an Irvine provider of management software for brokerage firms and banks.
Terms of the agreement, which is expected to close by the end of the month, were not disclosed. Frank Peters, president of Plaid, and his executive team will continue to manage the company as an independent company in SunGard Brokerage Systems, a division of SunGard’s Financial Systems Group.
SunGard, which is based in Wayne, Pa., provides computer software and services for disaster recovery, investment and portfolio management and health-care data.
