Emotions Continue After Walk for Breast Cancer

Thank you for the poignant and emotional First Person article by Deborah Kattler Kupetz (“Walk to Fight Breast Cancer Is an Emotional Journey,” Nov. 2).
A week after ending this memorable walk as a five-year survivor, I hosted an open house for my 65 financial supporters, who raised $4,200, and others who supported me in preparing for the Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day. These people had coached me, walked with me and encouraged me when I felt discouraged.
At this party, I relived much of the walk as I told my guests of my experiences, shared pictures of the people and scenery along our route, and thanked them for their support. I fell asleep last night feeling very satisfied that all at the party knew that they had made a difference in the fight against breast cancer.
Then I read Ms. Kupetz’s article and the tears began to flow again.
