Bergen Brunswig Wraps Up Purchase of Medical Firm

Bergen Brunswig Corp., one of the nation’s largest drug wholesalers, said it has completed its acquisition of closely held Ransdell Surgical Inc. for an undisclosed price. The deal allows Orange-based Bergen to expand its sales of medical and surgical products.
As part of the transaction, Bergen acquired Ransdell’s affiliate, Choice Systems Inc., a developer of inventory software.
Ransdell, which had 1997 revenue of $58 million, is based in Louisville, Ky.
