Becky Warnick
Capistrano Valley, Senior; Volleyball/Outside Hitter
Despite being undefeated, Capistrano Valley has been snubbed in Southern Section polls. Perhaps Warnick will help them get noticed. She had 18 kills to lead the unranked Cougars (10-0) to a four-game South Coast League victory over Mater Dei, the second-ranked team in state Division II. Also had 14 kills in sweep of Mission Viejo.
Stacy Barnett/Golf
* Estancia, senior. Made a hole in one on the par-three, 110-yard sixth hole at Mesa Linda in Costa Mesa during Eagles’ loss to Marina.
Lori Judd and Veronica Fermin/Tennis/Doubles
* Troy, juniors. Led the fourth-ranked Warriors to victories over Villa Park and Buena Park with two three-set sweeps.
Lori Mann/Cross-Country
* Santa Margarita, sophomore. Ran a record 18 minutes 28 seconds over the campus’ three-mile course to lead Eagles to victory over Newport Harbor.
