Pena’s Late Touchdown Keys La Quinta Victory

Josue Pena scored on an 80-yard touchdown pass from Thi Huyhn with 2 minutes 20 seconds remaining to lift La Quinta over Cerritos, 20-14, in a nonleague game Thursday at Cerritos Gahr High.
Alex Valdivia recovered a fumble with three minutes remaining and four plays later La Quinta (6-1) scored the game-winner.
Ben Fredrickson’s 12-yard touchdown reception put La Quinta ahead, 7-0, in the first quarter.
Jermaine Whiten returned a kickoff 87 yards for a touchdown for Cerritos.
