The La Habra Old Settlers’ Historical Society is celebrating its 100th anniversary Sunday.
A public potluck meeting will take place at 1 p.m. at the La Habra Club House, 200 W. Greenwood Ave.
The society was founded in 1898 by the La Habra Women’s Improvement Assn. The group named the streets of La Habra and planted trees for the community at the turn of the 20th century.
In its commemoration, the Historical Society has initiated the Founders’ Day 2000 Tree Planting Project, which aims to plant 2,000 trees by 2000.
For information regarding the meeting or to donate a tree, call (714) 870-6084.
