SANTA CLARA, Calif. — A 25-year-old man died Monday after being kicked in the head by a woman whizzing by in a roller coaster at Paramount’s Great America theme park.
The man, whose name has not been released, jumped over a fence into a restricted area to retrieve a hat he had lost while riding the “Top Gun,” attraction, said park officials.
A woman accidentally kicked the man when her car passed him. Roller coaster cars hang from the track above them, and passengers are seated with their legs dangling.
The man died at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. The woman, whose name was not released, was treated for leg injuries.
