Santa Ana Wins Cross-Country Invitational

Santa Ana men’s cross-country team scored 120 points to win the Fresno Invitational Saturday afternoon at Woodward Park in Fresno. Bakersfield took second with 137 and Mt. San Antonio was third with 145.
Alex Reyes finished seventh in 21 minutes 12 seconds over the four-mile course to lead Santa Ana.
Michael Kasahun became the first Fresno runner to win the men’s individual title in the Fresno Invitational with a time of 20:38.
In the women’s event, Orange Coast won the title with 67 points. Mt. San Antonio finished second with 102 points and West Valley third with 108 points. Santa Ana finished fifth with 122 points.
Zoila Gomez placed fourth in 19:19 over the 5,000-meter course.
Jen Schindler of American River won the individual women’s title in a time of 18:15.
In the Ventura men’s water polo tournament:
Citrus 9, Golden West 9--Adriano Marsili scored three goals and Evan McIntosh and Tom Carey each made three saves for Golden West (2-0-1) in the semifinals. Citrus advanced to the championship by winning a coin flip.
Golden West then defeated Mt. San Antonio, 10-3, in the third-place match.
