The City Council this week voted unanimously to spend $3,130 to modify a room at the Police Department for a “live-scan” fingerprint device. The California Department of Justice is providing law enforcement agencies in Orange County with the devices, which eliminate the need for manual fingerprinting. Costa Mesa will receive a device by June 1.
