LaFleur’s Double Gets Sunny Hills Past Fullerton

Jamie LaFleur’s double in the bottom of the 12th inning scored Katie Monken to give Sunny Hills a 3-2 victory over Fullerton in a Freeway League softball game Friday.
LaFleur went three for three in the game. Sunny Hills improved to 10-6, 1-1. Fullerton, which led 2-1, after five innings, is 6-7, 1-1.
In another Freeway League game:
La Habra 4, Troy 2--Elaine Elsesser hit a two-run home run in the sixth to break a 2-2 tie for La Habra, which had rallied for two runs in the fourth inning. Troy (13-15, 0-2) scored runs in the first and second.
In Orange League boys’ tennis:
Western 10 1/2, Savanna 10 1/2 (Western wins in sets, 10-8)--Western’s Scott Yath and Hau Phan defeated Bob Tran and Minh Truong, 7-2, in a tiebreaker that tied the score, 10 1/2-10 1/2. Western improved to 7-3, 2-2. Savanna is 8-6, 2-2.
In nonleague boys’ volleyball:
Valencia 3, Loara 0--Brian Bartczak had 16 kills to lead Valencia (11-1) to a 15-11, 15-4, 15-3 victory. Yam Anthoney had 10 kills for visiting Loara (0-4).
