Four years after residents first proposed the idea, city officials will form a “cemetery committee” to locate potential sites for a municipal burial ground, said Leslie Aranda, the city’s principal planner.
Although the city’s original, 1960’s-era Master Plan had included a site for a final resting place, the cemetery was dropped off the map in the late 1980s.
“Things sort of slipped through the cracks,” said Richard DeLapp, who proposed a cemetery to the City Council more than four years ago.
