Gap Recalling Children’s Pajamas

Gap Inc. said it’s recalling 231,000 pairs of children’s pajamas that failed to meet federal flammability standards and posed a risk of serious burns. San Francisco-based Gap said it has not received any reports of injuries related to the pajamas, and all the recalled clothes have been removed from store shelves. The company is conducting the recall, an extension of a recall made Dec. 2, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, which oversees rules requiring sleepwear fabric to be flame-resistant and self-extinguishing if ignited. The pajamas, made from 100% polyester fabric, were sold in GapKids, BabyGap, Gap Outlet and Old Navy stores nationwide from August 1999 through December 1999. The clothes can be returned to any Gap or Old Navy store for a refund and a $10 gift certificate. Consumers should call Gap Inc. at (800) 427-7895 or (800) 653-6289 or go to Web sites at https://www.gap.com or https://www.oldnavy.com for more information.
