Bicyclist, 45, Dies in Collision With Van in Fullerton

A 45-year-old woman riding a bicycle was killed when she was in collision with a van at a Fullerton intersection, police said.
Sofia Aceves of Fullerton suffered massive head injuries and died at the scene, said Officer Frank Graber.
Aceves was southbound on Gilbert Street about 3:50 p.m. when she ran into the side of a van making a right turn onto Orangethorpe Avenue, Graber said.
After colliding with the van, Aceves fell underneath the van and was run over, he said.
Police did not release the van driver’s name. The investigation is ongoing.
The bicycle death is the second in a week and the fourth serious accident in Orange County.
In Huntington Beach, a 40-year-old bicyclist was killed when struck by a car Sunday at Beach Boulevard and Slater Avenue.
Also in Huntington Beach, a 10-year-old was critically injured Saturday when his bike collided with a car.
A 22-year-old woman was injured Sunday when she collided with a city fire truck near Placentia Avenue and Wilson Street.
