Residents shouldn’t worry if they hear loud explosions or feel rumbling today or Wednesday: The disturbances are caused by routine Marine training at Camp Pendleton. The 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit will be training with 500-pound bombs today, ending about 3 p.m. The 1st Combat Engineer Battalion will be training with line charges until about midnight Wednesday. Although testing takes place near the center of the base, explosions can be heard up to 75 miles away.
