GOVERNMENT CONTRACT AWARDS

* KOR Electronics of Garden Grove won a $2.6-million contract from the Navy in Point Mugu for communication equipment.
* D.J. Scheffler Inc. in Pomona was awarded a contract for $335,593 from Ventura County to fortify the bridge over Santa Paula Creek at Bridge Road in Santa Paula. The project calls for the company to support the undermined bridge abutment with steel beams and to build concrete slope protection, diversion and control for water and earthwork.
The work is scheduled for completion by May 24.
* Channel Islands Paving in Camarillo was awarded a $48,000 contract from Ventura County to restripe the west parking lot at Ventura County Medical Center in Ventura. The project, which will also involve removing and installing curbing, is designed to increase parking capacity at the site.
The work will be done on the weekends, when parking demand is less. The project is scheduled for completion by May 17.
