InterDent Buys Bay Area Firm

El Segundo-based InterDent Inc., the nation’s largest dental practice-management company, said it acquired Serra Park Dental Services Inc. for an undisclosed amount to offer more services in the San Francisco Bay Area. Serra Park’s 10 offices in the San Francisco area will bring InterDent’s total number of California offices to 60. Santa Clara-based Serra Park has about $14 million in annual revenue. InterDent, with 193 offices in 11 states, also said it acquired two practices in Oregon and another in Florida. InterDent, formed by the March merger of Gentle Dental Service Corp. and Dental Care Alliance Inc., said it plans to make acquisitions that will generate an extra $60 million in revenue this year to strengthen its dental practice network in key areas. InterDent shares rose 13 cents to close at $7.25 on Nasdaq.
