Three months after a yellow Cadillac bashed through its storefront window, the Mustard Seed Mercantile went out of business.
Friday was the last day for the 14-month-old eatery and shop on Harbor Boulevard and Chapman Avenue, owner Pam King said.
“There are a combination of reasons why we are closing,” King said. But she blames the three weeks of no revenue after the July 17 accident that put the final nail in the coffin for the business.
King said she could not continue to pay the $6,200-a-month rent because damage from the accident cost the store about $30,000, and business fell by 25%, King said.
