Newport Harbor has won the last four meetings. The Sailors were impressive in beating Orange, 55-6, last week. They had three players combine for nearly 300 rushing yards. Marina is a much-improved team. Running back Ray Mietkiewicz is coming off a 178-yard performance in a 28-7 victory over Corona del Mar, and the Viking defense had seven sacks while limiting the Sea Kings to 101 yards. The experienced Newport Harbor offensive line must neutralize Marina’s pass rush and keep Mietkiewicz and the speedy Viking veer offense off the field. Marina’s defense must slow the balanced Sailor offense.
