Two men bleeding profusely after a stabbing attack drove more than 5 miles from Westminster to Huntington Beach on Thursday night looking for a hospital, authorities said Friday.
The two, both in their teens, were stabbed during a fight with three other men at Westminster Mall shortly before 8 p.m. Thursday but managed to drive to the Huntington Beach Library, Huntington Beach Police Lt. Luis Ochoa said.
Both were transported to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where Dong Ngoc Tran, 18, of Westminster was treated for stab wounds to the stomach, neck and his left arm. He was reported Friday to be in fair condition. Because the other victim was a juvenile, the hospital did not release information about his condition.
The three men involved in the stabbing, which police said may have been gang-related, were last seen driving from the mall’s south side in a green Acura Integra, Westminster Police Lt. Mike Shliskey said.
The men were described as in their 20s. Two had shaved heads and mustaches, and the third had spiky yellow hair, Shliskey said.
