Kosovo Serbs Rally to Protest Plant Closure

From Times Wire Reports

Thousands of Serbs marched to protest the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s takeover of a metal smelter in the province of Kosovo--a move U.N. officials said was meant to shut down a major polluter. Yugoslavia and Russia described it as a blow to Kosovo’s Serbs. Up to 3,000 Serbs marched through Kosovska Mitrovica. The protest came a day after NATO-led peacekeepers moved in to halt production at the plant in Zvecan.
