UC Irvine 90, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo 67--It isn’t often that the Anteaters win a game on the road.
Irvine’s victory over Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in front of 2,364 in Mott Gymnasium moved the Anteaters (10-10, 3-6) into a tie with Cal State Fullerton for fourth place in the Big West Conference’s Western Division.
The Anteaters outscored the Mustangs, 22-6, in the last 7:43 for only their second victory in 21 road games.
Guard Jerry Green had a career-high 29 points, making 11 of 15 shots. He also had five steals and four assists.
Mike Wozniak scored 19 points to lead the Mustangs, who have lost 13 of 14 games. They fell to 6-15, 1-8.
