The Versailles palace’s 2,000-acre grounds, where about 10,000 trees were felled last week by deadly storms that swept across France, are expected to reopen Jan. 10. The palace itself has reopened after the storm, which caused some damage to the roof, windows and skylights. . . . Big Bear Mountain Resort at Big Bear Lake, Calif., last week debuted a 250-foot-long run for snow tubers. It costs $5 per hour; the resort provides the inner tubes. At press time, the resort was still running on artificial snow. Tel. (909) 585-2519. . . . Vietnam Airlines has launched its first frequent-flier program, Golden Lotus Plus. Points can be redeemed for free tickets on all international flights and domestically on trips between Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).
