The city moved closer to its long-term goal of building a skateboard park this week when the City Council accepted a donation of land to be used for the park’s development.
Bank of America donated about two acres of land on the northeast corner of Lake Forest Drive and Rancho Parkway.
“Land is hard to find for skateboard parks,” said Lake Forest Community Development Planner Stephanie Eklund.
The donation “definitely helped things move along much quicker than they would have,” Eklund said.
City officials hope to pay for the project entirely with money from private sponsors, she added.
