“We just hope to keep the streak alive,” Hart coach Mike Herrington said.
Matter is the 12th Hart quarterback since 1985 to earn all-section recognition.
Linebacker Patrick Norton of Hart and lineman Travis Johnson of Notre Dame were selected Division III defensive co-players of the year.
In Division I, quarterback Casey Clausen of Alemany was selected offensive player of the year. Clausen, who has enrolled at Tennessee, led Alemany to the quarterfinals.
