Oregon 76, UCLA 67--A late surge came too late for the Bruins (3-6, 0-1) in a loss to the Ducks (6-4, 1-0) at Pauley Pavilion.
Trailing 50-26 with 16:19 left, the Bruins pulled within 64-50 with 5:30 to go. A 13-1 spurt over the next 4:02 pulled them within 65-63.
But Cathrine Kraayeveld converted a three-point play and two free throws for Oregon, which held off UCLA without former Cal State Northridge standout Edniesha Curry, who had scored 22 points but fouled out with 1:50 remaining.
UCLA, which has lost five in a row, got a strong performance from Kristee Porter, who had a season-high 18 points and five rebounds in her third game since joining the team after competing in volleyball.
