Edwards Base Cancels Annual Air Exhibition

Edwards Air Force Base’s annual air show and open house, one of the high desert’s biggest visitor draws, has been canceled because of the East Coast terrorist attacks, the base announced Thursday.
The Oct. 20-21 event was canceled “after careful consideration of safety, security and workload requirements,” a statement by the base said.
The air show would have commemorated the 50th anniversary of Edwards’ famed Air Force Flight Test Center. Last year’s event drew 50,000.
