Former President Clinton is to head a mission seeking solutions to Africa’s problems, from AIDS to debt, an international group of center-left government leaders said.
The 11 leaders also called for a fight against terrorism and its causes and said they would work to carry out the Kyoto climate change protocol rejected by the United States.
The summit in Stockholm was devoted to deepening democracy and fostering development in a globalized economy. It was attended by leaders from Britain, Sweden, France, Germany, Portugal, Poland, Brazil, Canada, Chile, South Africa and New Zealand. Clinton was not present.
