A Thousand Oaks man has been arrested in the robbery of one bank and the attempted holdup of a second in the Conejo Valley earlier this month.
Charles Kurash, 34, was booked Monday at Ventura County Jail in connection with the March 12 robbery of a Bank of America branch in Agoura Hills and an unsuccessful robbery attempt the same day at a World Savings Bank in Thousand Oaks.
Kurash was being held without bail. An arraignment was set for today, Ventura County Sheriff’s Det. Eric Buschow said.
The suspect was arrested after employees at a Thousand Oaks grocery store called police while Kurash was trying to cash money orders that he had bought there only hours before, Buschow said. Officers said the cash used to purchase the money orders matched bills stolen from the Agoura Hills bank.
