Valley Vision

Despite Gale Holland’s offensive assertion that Valley residents are ignorant snobs (“A Municipal Perfect Storm,” Opinion, May 19), I agree with one point she made: The San Fernando Valley city will be too large. Creating a number of smaller cities makes more sense. For example, Northridge, Porter Ranch, Chatsworth, Granada Hills, Mission Hills and North Hills should band together as a single city called Northridge Hills. Similarly, the communities in the northern, central and western areas of the Valley could form cities, all of which would probably be financially sound.

The vibrant and diverse communities of Los Angeles (on both sides of the hill) do not need a unified city government to represent their common interests. That is what the county is for.
