On planes, flip the PED switch to off

Regardless of whether [personal electronic devices] can interfere or cause problems on air flights, they are a nuisance to everyone around the person using them [“Trying to Clear the Static on Using Electronics Aloft,” Travel Insider, June 29]. I always look forward to the moment when the person seated behind or next to me has to end their conversation and put their phone away. I get tired of being privy to other people’s personal conversations.
PEDs should be permanently banned on all flights, just like cigarette smoking.
