International Symbols Beat Warnings -- in Any Language

Re “Long Road to Safe Crossing,” Editorial, Nov. 9:
The editorial says, “The cautionary signs are in English even though the neighborhood is largely Spanish-speaking.”
Why should the signs be in any language? There are plenty of international signs for nearly every purpose under the sun. It is high time that America gets with it and removes language as a barrier to driving.
After all, English is not a requirement for having a regular driver’s license, so why should there be signs in English at all?
