As lawsuits continue to fly over snowmobiles in Yellowstone National Park, nearly 900 riders descend each day on Yellowstone and Grand Teton parks in the winter, slightly fewer than the number permitted in the late 1990s. Under a rider attached to the omnibus spending bill that President Bush signed into law earlier this month, the National Park Service cannot ban snowmobiles as it once planned.
